Support the Team

Volunteer coaches, a trailer full of gear that sponsors and donors paid for, and a team that works to make sure no kid is left out because of money. Here’s what a gift does, and two ways to give.

Fifty to sixty riders a season, grades 5 through 12, from Moscow, Pullman, Troy, Genesee, Viola and Lewiston. Families pay the league’s registration; the team doesn’t add a fee. Jerseys, loaner bikes, tents and the trailer are paid for by sponsors, donors, and families who chip in when they can, so nobody is left out because they can’t. Every coach is a volunteer. That’s the whole model, and it’s what your gift keeps going.

Where the money goes

  • Jerseys. A team jersey costs about $65. Our last order of 45 came to $3,000, which was most of the bank account.
  • Coach licenses. A volunteer coach’s league license is $40. The team reimburses it, so money is never the reason an adult doesn’t coach.
  • Registration help. League registration is $130 in fall and $265 in spring. The league offers scholarships; when they fall short, we try to close the gap.
  • Loaner bikes. The team keeps a small fleet for kids who don’t have a bike yet or aren’t ready to buy one. Tires, tubes and chains add up.
  • Race weekends. Tents, tables, a water cooler, a propane heater, and the trailer that carries it to seven races a year. It needed new tires this month.

Give as an individual

One-time or monthly, any amount. The suggested amounts each pay for one real thing:

  • $40 licenses a volunteer coach for a year
  • $65 puts a new rider in a team jersey
  • $130 covers a fall registration for a family that needs it
  • $265 covers a spring registration
  • $10 a month is a jersey and a half a year, and the easiest gift to keep giving

The form is run by Zeffy, which charges us nothing. The optional tip at checkout goes to Zeffy, not to us, and you can set it to zero. You’ll get a tax receipt by email.

Other ways to give

Double it through your employer. Many employers match charitable gifts, and some match volunteer hours. Search your employer’s name and “matching gifts,” or ask HR. They’ll want our EIN: 46-0966026.

Donate a bike. A working mountain bike with 24- to 29-inch wheels can become a loaner for a kid who needs one. Email info@palousebicycleracing.org first so we can tell you whether it fits.

Sponsoring the team is marketing with a very specific audience: the families of every rider on the team, whose jerseys, loaner bikes and race-day setup exist because of you, and everyone those families talk to. Parents notice which businesses show up for their kids. They say so, out loud, at trailheads, at school pickup, and on the team email thread.

Who you reach

  • About a hundred Palouse parents, plus grandparents and siblings, in Moscow, Pullman, Troy, Genesee, Viola and Lewiston. Local customers who see your logo at every practice and every race.
  • More than 160 addresses on the team mailing list, which gets race recaps that families read, reply to, and forward.
  • Seven race weekends a year in front of twenty-some Washington teams and a few hundred families, with our jerseys on the podium more than most.
  • The team trailer, in every race village and on every highway between here and there.
  • The season-end celebration, where sponsors are thanked by name with the families in the room.

What that buys is gratitude, which is the kind of attention you can’t get any other way: a parent choosing your shop, your clinic or your restaurant because you backed their kid’s team.

Choose your level

Enter the amount for your level, choose yearly if you’d like it to renew each season without anyone chasing anyone, and tell us how your business name should appear. Takes about a minute.

After you sponsor, send your logo to info@palousebicycleracing.org as a vector file (SVG, EPS or PDF) if you have one, or the biggest PNG you’ve got. In-kind help counts too: bike shops have sponsored with service and parts for the loaner fleet, and a food business could own the Saturday-night burrito build. Email us and we’ll find the fit.

Current sponsors

Thank you to the businesses already on the jerseys: Moscow Area Mountain Bike Association (MAMBA), Rolling Hills Bikes, Moscow Family Eye Care, Gropp Heating and Air, Northwest River Supply (NRS), Moscow Elks Lodge and Love’s Kombucha.
