Youth mountain bike racing on the Palouse
A mountain bike team for kids in grades 5 through 12 from Moscow, Pullman and the towns around them. Three rides a week on Moscow Mountain, and race weekends across Washington where the whole team camps, cooks and cheers together. The biggest team in the league, and the one that drives farthest to get there, which tells you something about how much the kids like it.
Who can join
Riders in grades 5 through 12 who call Moscow Mountain their local trails: roughly Colfax to Bovill, Potlatch to the Lewis-Clark Valley. Every ability level, from first bike race to varsity.
When we ride
Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings on Moscow Mountain. Spring starts with weekend rides at Hells Gate in Lewiston. Rides run 90 minutes to two hours, grouped by ability.
What it costs
Families pay the league’s registration, about $130 in fall and $265 in spring, which covers insurance and races. The team doesn’t add a fee. We have some loaner bikes if you need one.

- May 31: State Championships, Ski Hill, Leavenworth
Fall 2026
- September 20: Key Pen Pursuit, 360 Trails, Gig Harbor
- October 4: Fall Finale, Flying Horseshoe Ranch, Cle Elum

Want to coach?
We need adult riders of all levels. All you need is a good attitude and a bike; the league provides the training and the team reimburses the license fee.

Practice schedule
Fall 2026
- Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5:45 to 7:15 PM
- Saturdays, 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM
Spring
Spring practice starts in February or March with weekend rides at Hells Gate State Park in Lewiston. Weekday evening rides start once daylight saving time begins and the snow melts on Moscow Mountain. Scheduling and RSVPs run through TeamSnap once you’ve registered.
Race weekends
Every race weekend the team sets up tents in the race village, cooks dinner together the night before, and cheers for every rider from first to last. It’s the best part.
